Customer Direct Setup · Offline Guide

Root it. Install it. Make the first call.

A single-file guide for technical customers who want to prepare their own compatible Android phone and install TeleTalker without a reseller. If your phone is already rooted with Magisk, jump straight to installation.

Read first

Compatibility is not optional

TeleTalker needs system-level access to route AI audio into a real SIM/GSM call. A normal Play Store-style installation is not enough.

9–12

Supported Android

Use Android 9, 10, 11, or 12. Android 13 currently has a known one-way-audio problem. Android 14+ and iPhone are not supported under this guide.

ROOT

Magisk required

The exact model must allow bootloader unlocking and must be safely rootable with matching firmware. Brand name alone is not a compatibility guarantee.

SIM

Dedicated phone is best

Use a real SIM, stable internet, reliable charging, and a separate business phone. Globe, Smart, and DITO are listed as tested in the current product guidance.

Rooting can wipe or brick the phone.Unlocking the bootloader normally factory-resets the device and may void warranty. Samsung Knox can be tripped permanently. Back up first, use only exact-model firmware, and stop if your model-specific instructions conflict with this generic guide.
Use official files only.Get the TeleTalker APK from teletalker.app or use the official APK supplied with this guide. Never install modified builds or APKs from unknown accounts, mirrors, or public file-sharing links.

Part 1 · Skip if already rooted

Generic Magisk self-root path

This is the standard patched-boot-image flow for many Android 9–12 phones. Your exact model’s official/XDA instructions take priority.

  1. Back up and record exact device details

Write down the full model number and current build number. Back up everything. Export authenticator/2FA access before continuing.

  2. Confirm the bootloader can be unlocked

Enable Developer Options by tapping Build number seven times. Enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging. If OEM unlocking is unavailable or permanently greyed out, stop and research the exact model.

  3. Install Google Platform Tools

Download the official SDK Platform Tools from developer.android.com. Open a terminal inside the extracted platform-tools folder, connect the phone, approve the debugging prompt, then check:

    adb devices
  4. Unlock the bootloader

This normally wipes the phone. Reboot to bootloader and confirm Fastboot sees it:

    adb reboot bootloader
    fastboot devices

    Many devices use:

    fastboot flashing unlock

Some older models use fastboot oem unlock. Xiaomi, Motorola, Sony, Samsung, and carrier models may require a different vendor-specific process.

  5. Get the exact matching stock boot image

Download stock firmware for the exact model and current build. Extract boot.img. Some packages place it inside payload.bin. Never use a patched image from another phone or a different build.

  6. Patch the image in Magisk

Install official Magisk from github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases. In Magisk choose Install → Select and Patch a File, select boot.img, then copy the generated magisk_patched-xxxxx.img back to the computer.

  7. Flash only according to your model’s instructions

For standard Fastboot devices, the common command is:

    adb reboot bootloader
    fastboot flash boot magisk_patched-xxxxx.img
    fastboot reboot

Do not guess alternate partitions or slots. If your model guide says to temporarily boot, use init_boot, use recovery, or use another tool, follow that exact guide instead.

  8. Verify root before installing TeleTalker

Open Magisk. It should show an installed version, not “N/A.” When a root-capable app requests access, Magisk should display a Superuser prompt.

Samsung is different. Many Samsung devices use Download Mode and Odin with a Magisk-patched AP firmware package—not the generic Fastboot commands above. US/Canada Snapdragon variants are often bootloader-locked. Follow exact model and region instructions; unlocking can permanently trip Knox.
Bootloop?Stop random flashing. Re-enter the bootloader and recover using the original stock boot image or full exact-model firmware. If you are unsure, use a qualified Android technician before the device becomes harder to recover.
Part 2

Install the official TeleTalker package

Use this section whether you rooted the phone today or it was already rooted.

  1. Confirm the files and source

You may receive an APK such as teletalker.apk and, when required for the release, a Magisk module such as TeleTalker-v2.1-magisk.zip. Use only files supplied through the official TeleTalker channel. Do not rename a ZIP to APK or unzip a Magisk module before installation.

  2. Allow this one APK installation

On the phone, open Settings → Apps/Security → Install unknown apps and allow the browser or file manager you are using. The wording varies by Android brand. Turn this permission off again after installation.

  3. Install the APK

Open the supplied official teletalker.apk, tap Install, then open TeleTalker. If Android blocks it because the file is from an unknown or unverified source, do not blindly bypass the warning—confirm that the file came from teletalker.app or official support.

  4. Install the Magisk module if it was supplied or required

Open Magisk → Modules → Install from storage, select the official TeleTalker module ZIP, wait for a successful completion message, then reboot. Keep the ZIP intact. If your release package or official onboarding does not require a separate module, do not install a random one.

  5. Grant Superuser access

Launch TeleTalker after reboot. When Magisk asks whether TeleTalker may have Superuser/root access, tap Grant. If no prompt appears, check Magisk → Superuser and relaunch the app.

  6. Grant required Android permissions

Allow the permissions requested for operation: Phone, Microphone, Contacts, Files/Storage, and Accessibility when requested by the official build. Use Settings → Apps → TeleTalker → Permissions to review anything missed.

  7. Disable battery restrictions

Set TeleTalker to Unrestricted / Don’t optimize, allow background activity and auto-start if your phone maker provides those controls, and exclude it from aggressive power-saving/app-killing features.

  8. Restart once more and reopen TeleTalker

After all permissions and the module are in place, reboot, open the app, and confirm there are no root or permission errors.

Do not uninstall during a normal update unless official support says so.Uninstalling can remove local settings or data. For an official replacement APK, install it over the existing app when Android permits a normal update.
Part 3

Connect the voice and configure the agent

  1. Connect ElevenLabs

Create or use your ElevenLabs account, copy its API key, then in TeleTalker open Settings → Voice Engine, enter the key, and select an available voice. ElevenLabs is billed separately from TeleTalker.

  2. Confirm TeleTalker minutes and plan

Current customer guidance includes 10 free TeleTalker minutes. Lite is for inbound calling; Standard adds outbound scheduling and has a separate subscription. Carrier call load/promo and internet are also required.

  3. Create the business persona and knowledge

Add approved business hours, services, prices, FAQs, service areas, appointment rules, and the human callback route. Tell the agent not to guess. When information is unknown, it should collect a callback request.

  4. Add AI and recording disclosure

Every caller must know they are speaking with AI and that the call may be recorded. For outbound calls, ask permission before continuing the pitch.

Inbound opening

Hi, this call is handled by an AI assistant and may be recorded for service quality. How can I help you?

Outbound permission gate

Hi—AI caller for [Business]. Recorded call. May I continue?
Do not treat silence as permission. If the person says no, end the AI sales conversation or offer a human follow-up through another appropriate channel. Recording, privacy, and outbound-call rules vary by location; this operational guide is not legal advice.
Part 4

Do not deploy until two-way audio passes

Test from a second phone. A screen that says “connected” is not enough—the caller and AI must hear each other clearly.

Checklist progress is saved only in this browser on this device.

Production safety

Treat the phone as a call appliance

Protect it

Use a screen lock, strong account credentials, limited installed apps, and no personal banking or sensitive personal data. Never share the ElevenLabs API key publicly.

Keep it online safely

Use a good charger and cable, ventilation, and a healthy battery. Stop using a swollen or dangerously hot battery. Keep the dedicated phone powered for reliable answering.

Control updates

Avoid blind OTA or firmware updates on a working production phone. Updates can remove root or break two-way audio. Keep exact stock firmware and recovery notes available.
