Core functionality
What exactly does TeleTalker do?

TeleTalker isn't voicemail — it's an active assistant that speaks, listens, and takes action on real phone calls.

System requirements
Why is root required?

System-level audio access is needed to bridge the AI voice into live GSM calls. Standard Android permissions can't perform these low-level telephony operations, so the app runs on a rooted device.

Voice quality
How does it sound so human?

TeleTalker generates speech in real time through the ElevenLabs API, so responses sound natural and lifelike rather than robotic.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): paste your own ElevenLabs API key in Settings for the lowest latency and highest-fidelity voice.

Because it sounds real, disclose it

A lifelike voice makes the opening AI-disclosure line important — see "What does it say first?" below.

Disclosure
What does the assistant say when a call starts?

By default, every call opens with a short notice that discloses the AI and that the call may be recorded, before any personal details are exchanged. You can edit it, but keep the disclosure and recording parts.

Default greeting
"Hi, this call is handled by an AI assistant and may be recorded for service quality. How can I help you?"

It plays in the language the agent will speak, so keep a translated version for each language you serve. Full detail is in the Compliance & Responsible Use guide.

Scheduling & notes
How does the scheduling loop close?

Scheduling is calendar-integrated, with automatic output after each call:

Pricing & payment
How do I pay, and what does it cost?

A transparent, prepaid model with no lock-in.

Note on older figures

Some earlier documents listed rates like $0.85/min or $0.45/mo. The correct, current rate is $0.05 per minute, pay-as-you-go.

Recording
Are calls recorded?

Yes. Calls are recorded and transcribed by default. The device stores call audio, and the transcripts generated from calls are also processed by ElevenLabs, including for purposes such as service operation and, depending on settings, model training.

That's why the opening greeting discloses recording. Tell your callers plainly, and set a retention window that fits your needs.

Privacy & security
Where does my call data actually go?

Be accurate with callers about this. Recordings and transcripts are stored on the device, and call audio and transcripts are also processed by ElevenLabs to power the assistant.

Correction to older privacy wording

Earlier docs implied audio stays entirely on-device and out of the cloud. For accurate disclosure, state that a third-party AI voice provider processes call audio and transcripts.

Data control
Can I control how long data is kept, and delete it?

Yes. In Settings → Privacy & Data you can set a retention window so old recordings and transcripts delete automatically, delete individual calls by hand, and export a caller's data on request.

Languages
Which languages can it handle?

Through ElevenLabs, TeleTalker speaks and understands 30+ languages. Set the agent's language to match your callers, and keep your disclosure greeting translated for each one.

Editions
What's the difference between Lite and Standard?
Lite
Inbound answering + transcription
Standard
Inbound + outbound + scheduling

Lite is free to start and focuses on answering incoming calls. Standard unlocks autonomous outbound calling, advanced scheduling, and call recording controls.
